Title: Ship-Breaking Diorama by Nader Taheri
Post by: marc_reusser on January 15, 2013, 02:56:02 AM
I have long been absolutely fascinated by the ship-breaking operations in Chittgong, Bangladesh. Always though some day I would build a dio of a scene there. ....well now I can live vicariously (despite being green with envy).

This dio by Nader Taheri, captures the look and feel perfectly.

Very well done. That is a potentially complicated subject-his dio is concise and well composed.  There are a lot of other beautuful ship models on that site too. Thanks for the heads up.

This is really an impressive work. The feel, layout and colors are perfect. Also like the sharp edges that match the ground shades. A nice change from the usual black.

The model is terrific! I looked up some prototype pics and this is very true to the prototype.

Judging by the lack of cranes, vehicles or heavy equipment, I'm guessing they just slowly cut the ship into tiny pieces that can be hauled away manually. Kind of like ants disposing of a rat carcass.
