I finished something! Actually, these have been finished for over a month... just been too busy to take pics. These are my build-ups of the Industria Mechanika/Ian McQue Sky Mark aerial buoys. I did the masters and photoetch for these based on artwork Ian sent me. The kits have a LOT of photoetch for the upper truss and other details, but it's not too difficult to put together and are pretty large when done.

I painted one in red and another in green to match how actual navigation buoy in the ocean are colored to depict channels. The yellow one is an indicator for a hazard. I figure this one can be a mobile one used by a construction crew to be placed where needed.

Very nice !

I read something about a LED. Is it intended to be functional ?

Thanks guys. Yup, they light up! I have some early video of it here but didn't photograph it lit since they're blinking and that'd be hard to catch.

Cool !   ;D

Last summer I made several photo's of buoys when visiting Venice with the same idea in mind.
I guess you made it a lot easier for me  ;)

BTW, if you're interested (and if I can find them quickly) I could post some of them here.

Not a buoy but an interesting idea .......  ;)

Last one.

This was what triggered the idea. Now imagine this without the water, with an airbuoy and a remora-ish ship tied to the pier ..........  ::)
(now only if I had some more spare time  ;)  )

Hope you like them.

Regards,
Marc

Those are great refs. Thanks for those! I'll be posting pics of the next airship next week as I just finished the master and etch design yesterday.
