I want to weather the locomotive shed I made mostly wood planks I've try some test plank ,but not happy with the result. If anyone can help it would be great
You will get better results from a store bought stain.
Builders in scale sells "silverwood" which many of us here love.
Micro mark also sells a brown and a black A&I
If your going to make your own you are better off to use Feeblings (sp?) shoe dye.
Most folks use "USMC black".

I switched to SilverWood after using India ink and either rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol for years. I prefer the color of SilverWood. Perhaps more importantly, your wood will yellow over time and, if you use ink/alcohol, you can count on your nice "gray" wood turning brown. That has happened to every one of my models. -- Russ
I was talk with the guy at the paint shop he suggested to try a stain called driftwood ever heard of that the sample looked good ???
