Very Cool Ed. Thanks for posting. Brings back memories; one of my automitive design intructors learned, and  did, this type of coach building when he started out, and then for years later as a specialist and designer. Told us all sorts of stories and anecdotes. We had a giant rack of "ships curves" in our classroom, and as part of his class had to make a smaller set for ourselves, that we then used on our car design projects. I still have them, and they have proved quite useful for a number of things throughout the years....and were quicker to use than the computer.

I gave all my ships curves and triangles away when I got into law enforcement.   Now I want them back

I found a set of ships curves (my father called them dress patterns) at a yard sale. They are very handy in the cabinet/furniture business and like Marc said, a lot quicker to use than the computer.
