1/48 lobster/shrimp boat

New to the group- I've been an avid HO moderler for years but have recently been hit by the On30 bug of modeling and want to try my hand at a diaorma be totally deide to switch--I recent went to Florida and went to a Fn3- layout that has great detail which I'm sure if you are in the hobby you know the likes of Sundance central...I will include the address below

regardless I am loking the do maybe a wharf scene and looking for some o scale lobster or shrimp boats at the dock region and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to where I might obtain these---without being expensive---might come down to ti that I might have to make own but would be nice to at least get a shell to start with...thanks all

JC,

Nash and Greenburg did the Pillar Point diorama decades ago using the Lindbergh HO scale Shrimp Boat.

Recently, Brian Block did the same thing.

This makes a great O scale fishing boat which does not overpower the scene.

They show up on EBay regularly at good prices.

Just change a few items like the deck house and you are ready to go fishing.

Also, don't forget that scenery master, Dave Frary owned his own lobster boats for years.  
He is very informative and a good source for anything relative to lobstering.

yes that shrimp boat in the boat section is excellent.
scratch building is best but sometimes you need a hand,i remember that the revel kit of a tug boat can be used for the hull .try the model shipyard  yard in the uk for detail.
just on another subject i had a look at the sundance 1-22 layout.expensive but again the same scenes bit like a night mare, but really the sheet backdrop with blobs of paint why bother.a very light sky blue would be heaps better.

Incidentally, the Lindbergh Shimp Boat is really 1/62nd scale.

Yes, Troels does have lobster boats on ihs layout.   Of course he usually builds his boats using a foam core and card stock planking.

Kim I think you better check out the new backdrop for the Sundance.  They had improved it by expanding it and adding a photorealistic backdrop. Hal Reynolds did a super job on the backdrop.

Bluejacket Models has a 1/87 scale lobster boat that is quite good and can be embellished. I do not know if they offer it in other scales. I have some measured drawings of both a lobster boat and shrimp cutter here:
