To add just that extra bit of realism to your model.....and save you from having to drill out some styrene rod...or using that solid stock.....here is some scale pipe (Brass)

Be aware that EDM drill rod is usually brass, has a hole in it and is available down to .005" in diameter. Amazing machines EDM drills, they can drill a hole in a diamond with a hollow brass rod.
