New 1/87 scale winch model

Up until now if one wanted a good model of the Willamette winch it was settle for some generic lump of cast metal or scratch build it. Soon Ralph Ratcliffe Models  (  http://www.ralphratcliffemodels.com/  )  will be releasing the Willamette coupled with the GM 6-71 diesel engine as a power plant. My information tells me that the 6-71 has been in existence since 1938 and is still being used primarily as a marine engine. Below are some photos of the cast resin engine in paint and the master for the Willamette which will also be cast resin parts. Release date as of yet unknown but a done deal for sure.

Just when I was painfully erecting a 1:48 hoist, somebody comes with a 1:87 one...
And tomorrow, Dallas will make an N scale version with working mechanism.

Looking real good, Chester ... but I'm slightly surprised that there isn't a new truck in the scene.

Chester, lots of winches, donkey´s etc. here.  http://www.riograndemodels.com/HO.htm. Eric Bracher makes excellent kits that could easily be modified.
