That huge donkey engine, pulling itself up the hill with the entire crew is very impressive.
Now to see someone model it.

Glad you guys enjoyed it...found it by accident looking for pics of old 1950 Ford pick-ups.

Now...I really want to see Gordon, Barney, or Gordon, build one of these....

I tried running a google image search for "Madison Ditcher".....it's amazing how many drunk girls there are named madison that feel compelled to post their photo.

...I did however run across these images which still might make for an interesting model:

From the Alberta Oilfield History and Equipment Museum site:

From the "H.A.M.B" forum (whatever HAMB is)...there seem to be a lot (hundreds of pages) of other cool automitive, motorbikes, trucks and wierd stuff pics, on this thread... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=483757&page=357 ...happy browsing ;D

...same site...this is a "Buckeye Traction Ditcher".

..or this one..

For some reason, I feel that this contraption should be suspended from a hot air balloon over the boiler for best effect!  ;D
