Bexley, Bill, Gordon, Rick, Bernard,Les and if I have missed anybody off I apologise , thanks for all the input and suggestions  .................... seems I am not the only one who has tried different approaches as to how to solve this problem.

The continuous wire and then wrapping for the joints is something I will try  ............. I'm the poor sap who has tried this method before but with individual pieces .......... doh!

Bill the printed parts sound interesting, never seen any of these bits in real life but the texture almost everybody mentions actually might be a bonus in this case .... to represent the cast iron bends, etc. And I suppose this process will not leave a casting line, another advantage . Just need a stiff drink and a pencil & pad to calculate out the nearest to 1/35 & 1/24  these 7/8ths scale bits are .............. but will order up some and post details later

Thanks again folks
Gordon
