Anyone have info on the 2 metal bottle looking thing's on the front of this truck?  my guess is there weight's to hold down the front on heavy loads ??

Could possibly be aceteline (carbide gas) tanks for carbide lights.

My guess is they were added on by some handyman.   You certainly can't crank the engine over very well with that crossbar in the way.
Your weight idea may be correct, although the shape is odd.

As Gordon mentioned it maybe contains coil springs as secondary suspension.

Looking at the way the front springs are located I would guess that they are early forms of shock absorber/ damper
