I think you eat muttin(s), and look out through muntins.

I have never tried either of those  ...but I hear "Mutton" (which I have not tried either) is big in Britain  (but then so is some nightmare called Blood Pudding.)

That's a wonderful way to get thin, delicate muttins (is that the proper term?). 

What do you think about glazing-bars? Or is it too simple?

Some explanations about the used materials:
Marc is right, "Polystyrol" is styrene, the stuff Evergreen makes his strips from.
"Styrodur" is that blue foam. You can find more information here. By the way a wonderful source for modelers.
"Vivak" is the brand name of Bayer for Plexiglas. Informations can be find here.
