Marcel ,

I have joined this party rather late and am trying to catch up .On seeing these photos my whole outlook on modelling has just changed . What you have done here is wonderful, and you have set my mind thinking ( steady now ) about doing something similar . I shall be looking out for you work in the future .

I know this topic is a couple years old, but I just have to say, that is fantastic modeling! Very beautiful! Is it a stand-alone diarama, or part of a larger model? What is the scale?

Visit my website to see pics of the rugged and rocky In-ko-pah Railroad!

Ray ,

You are indeed right , Marcel does do some fantastic modelling . He models in a similar scale to you , 1/22.5 .

The diorama is part of a small modular layout that he has been constructing over the past few years which can be viewed on a number of websites . His own site is www.feldbahn-modelbau ch ,and he also has stuff at www.buntbahn.de under the name of Marcel . Both websites are in German , but hey , you don't think we're going to make it to easy for you .

I have been so inspired by this diorama that I have had a go at something similar in 1/24th scale . I hesitate to post a photo of it on the same page as Marcel's , but it might be of interest to you , so I'll do it anyway .

Incidentally , on a slightly different note . I spent last week in Bavaria and was browsing in a newsagent and came across a German magazine called 012-Express . This could probably be classed as the German equivalent of Finescaler Railroader , as it is only published quarterly and is a high quality product . I was pleasantly surprised to find an article of Marcel's layout in it . In addition it is possible to download an English version of the text . Whilst I don't suppose for minute this magazine is available in the States , those more adventurous of you might like to try and get a copy direct from Germany .

Thanks for the "glowing" praise , Russ . You really know how to make a Chap feel good !

Thanks also Michael for a more restrained "attaboy" !
