I painted the edges of the fins and the mid-band. I also started to weather the graphic.

3D glasses needed.

As it so happens, I have cardboard 3D glasses from a copy of Top Gear magazine sitting right next to me! That 3D photo with glasses looks really cool! Keep up the good work.

Thanks!

I built 4 mini rockets to go along with the larger one. I took a bunch of pics but none of them captured what it really looks like. I'll have to set up a photo booth.

I did get a good pic of one of the smaller ones. I still have more weathering to do but almost one.

Marc Reusser mentioned using powders so I got some Bragdon powders from the local train store. ???

Man I love this stuff!! I thought they would act like the pastels I ground up in the past but these things are amazing!!!  :D

I had so much fun last night weathering these! Wow, the possibilities of the powders is endless. I just painted them on and blended them like an airbrush but I'll be experimenting with them for a while.

I made a light box tonight so i could get better pics. I'll post a few more when I can.

Thanks Marc!!  ;D

Tim,

These all came out very cool looking. Nice variety of weathering and wear.

So what becomes of these.....does your son get to be the happiest kid in the neighborhood?

Thanks guys!! ;D

These were actually made for an art show in Los Angeles this Saturday at a place called Toy Art Gallery.

My son wants the black one on the far left. I wanted to make some support vehicles etc but I ran out of time due to spending a few weeks on Halloween Costumes.

My next project is a train!!

Tim,

Do you have info on the show?  Is it open to the public?

I might just have to leave my little Pasadena world, and go mingle with those LA types.

Here's the Gallery and some info.

That would be cool if you could come out! I'll be flying there on Thursday.

Tim, you must be some kind of luminary in your field. I looked at many examples on the blog. To call those things "toys" is like calling the Mona Lisa a "sketch". -- Russ

Thanks Russ! I'm still trying to figure out what field I belong to.

I was in Pasadena today. Very nice place. I saw Doc Brown's house!
