Digital die cutters. A possible alternative to laser cutting?

Did this ever go anywhere?  Did anyone here aquire such a machine?  Was a flurry of discussion a while back, but I'm still wondering about details and applications.   In particular the embossing function.   Anyone?

I was wondering the same thing. The thread died and Tom never offered a progress report. Maybe that is Nature's way of telling us to stick with laser cutting .... -- Russ
