This is a big beastie . 1/24th scale I believe .

   That's right isn't it , Barney ?

Yes this is the big one 1/24th scale - measures 3 foot long and used a lot of Lego Blocks for the main chassis
What have I done of late - Building a Nash Quad truck with a Holt 1/2 track conversion towing a Anti Aircraft Gun -In the paint shop now -pictures soon
and finished the 1/20 scale workshop machines but do not like them - started again in 1/35th (defected to the other side) watch this space pictures on the way.

You need to be more specific when you ask a question like that to Barney . Do you mean "what have you done in the last month ?" ,  do you mean "what have you done in the last week ?" , do you mean " what have you done in the last day ?" or do you mean " what have you done while I was typing my post ?!" . You are talking to the guy who never stops modelling and who produces more in a month than the rest of us can do in a year .
   Still he has just told you what he has done since breakfast so ask again tomorrow for an update ,

Barney, what material do you use for the sheet metal bits? Platicard or brass or?

I always use Plain white Styrene Sheet (Plastic Card) and embossed white Styrene sheet for the Chequer plate flooring I have found the Slater's chequer plate to be the best in comes in 10 thou and 15 thou a nice fine scale thickness - to create the metal look on worn floors - tracks -pulley wear and control levers etc first I give the surface a "ding" here and there with a knife blade or if its a cast iron surface I bounce a Dremel ball bit lightly over the surface - then a light sand and then I spray matt Humbrol tank grey let it dry overnight then dry brush with Humbrol Metal Coat normally polished steel.
