Thanks all for the kind words, I made a little more progress today, I made a small bridge plate to connect the floor sections. The hex nuts are placeholders till I get some square ones made.

I am also checking the proportions of the canopy.

a little more progress the pipework is now soldered together, and a new design for the canvas canopy because the other designs were not satisfactory. The new canopy called for grommets so I had to make them.

they are .081 overall diameter.







The lacing is a brown Coban cotton thread







that is all so far.

Thats a superbly clean modelled effort.  Working large scale does have its advantages.  Its starting to look like an excellent collectors piece.  Thanks for the continued updates.

Thanks everyone for the support.
regarding how I made the grommets, just put some .081" brass rod in the lathe then turned down a shoulder to .060" x .030" then drilled a hole with the smallest centre drill .050" just deep enough to let the chamfer reach the end face, then switched parting tools and parted it off leaving a .010" flange. they did get a bet tedious and next time I will use these

As  usual, your dedication and skill have blown me away!  On the eyelet website, does 1/16th inch refer to the size of hole required for the eyelet, or something else?

I was told that the 1/16 refers to the overall diameter of the eyelet, I am hoping to order some so when I get some I will post a drawing of the actual size. with all the relevant dimensions.
