1/35th scale Kerr Stuart

Newbie here, first posting.  Been playing around with 1/35th scale as there are some lovely detail items from the military modellers in this scale.  Attached is a scratch built narrow gauge Kerr Suart Wren class. Plasticard contruction, a bit of plastic plumbing tube for the boiler then wrapped, some of those excellent rivets from Scale Hardware, Slaters wheels (from a 7mm gauge Irish Railcar kit) then the whole lot painted Floquil Grimy Black and dusted with rust powders. The cab is painted using the "salt" technique.   The wall at the back is from Nick (Shropshirelad).   Les T

This is the first time I find it fitting to use the expression "Anorectic" about a scale model! (Real models on the other hand...)

The Kerr Stuarts were very diminutive engines, the boiler was only 2ft in diameter which does make them
"anorexic" looking especially without boiler cladding and the saddle tank.  Photo of a "real life" derelict one attached

Its a great little loco Les, and as I said when I saw it in real life really like the colour and effect you achieved on the cab, as well as the well worn but rusty look on the smoke box.

Until I read the description I thought I was looking at a 1:1 prototype photo. That suggests the modeling is adequate. -- Russ

Lovely stuff Newbie Les - just keep the inspirations coming this 1/35th stuff is catching -the amount of superb "fine scale" bits and bobs that is available
seems to be growing daily and I agree with others you have to look twice  at the photo its so realistic.
