Help needed to escape modelling inspiration slump

Hi guys

Ive hit a serious modelling slump and Im looking for some pictures or websites to get some inspiration to build something. Just something small that will get the modelling juices flowing. Anything from a wall of an interesting structure to some cool vehicle.  Just something that I could complete over a week or so will do.
I know it's a very broad subject, but im sure you all have some interesting websites that you turn to for inspiration.
Looking forward to the help.
Kind Regards
Wesley

The attached photo is of a Chickory Kiln in Victoria Australia.

Try doing a repo of that wall sign!
Or build the whole building.

I find the Library of Congress' HABS site very inspirational and very informative.
Just search for HABS.
Then you can do an advanced search by subject.
Lots of good pictures and drawings too.
When I get in a slump I find the greater the challenge the more fun.
Try something you have (or even someone else) never done.

Wes,
Build something that you can finish fairly quick.   Like that wall above and then put it in a frame or shadowbox.
Remember those two shadowboxes that Chester built....do something like that but on the fast and simple scale.
Or something along the lines that Troels is doing with that window and wall.
There have been a number of walls done here on this forum...like those from Chuck Doane.
And then show us the pictures.

I glad I'm not the only one to hit "the great modelling slump" loads to finish but just wanted to do something different come across a generator powered by and old truck under a corrugated roof /open shed so into the junk box and come up with a German Ford light truck.

I know the feeling. Kind of like Modelpause. Any hot flashes?

Maybe a simple laserkit building built out of the box.

Modeling slump: Been there, done that!

I have tons of interesting prototype photos on my website. Here are a few things that might inspire you...

This small building in Austin, NV would make a really great model, but I don't know if it could be done in a week:

More pics of this building, and others from Austin, can be found here:

http://www.raydunakin.com/Site/Austin_NV.html

Here's a small garage in Tonopah, NV that is very interesting and could be modeled pretty quickly:

More pics of this building can be found starting here:

This crumbling stone cabin could be modeled as-is, or you could model it intact:

More pics of this building can be seen here:

Here's a Southern Pacific Narrow Gauge stock car that has been used as a shed or stable:

More pics of this structure can be seen here:

Or for a really quick project, you could build an old outhouse such as this one at Stella's Camp, in the Death Valley area:

This tiny gas station in Silver Peak, NV would also be a good modeling subject:

More pics of this building, and others from Silver Peak, can be found here:

Or how about this small wooden church overlooking Manhattan, NV:

Some great ideas but it would take more than a week merely to weather the components! -- Russ

Go to the beach!  Relax.  When you get back, you'll need something to do and the old ways will take over.  (If the beach isn't practical, go for a walk or a drive and take a camera ... you'll find something interesting.)

Meanwhile, Barney sure found a cool idea ... I'll bet you've got a bunch in your photo folders & bookmarks ... have a second look.

Good luck!

Do something, just don't do what Mario just did and up and quit!   He even deleted his website and all the great photos on it.

On a silly but serious note ... don't forget that the whole idea of the hobby is to relax and have fun ... I mentioned the beach and other alternatives might prove to provided some needed refreshment.  Then, getting back to the hobby side, consider doing the OPPOSITE of what you want (and that can mean a lot of different things) ... buy a Lego set and build it to look like the picture on the box ... then take it apart and see what else you can make ... take some of your paints and a little scrap of something and paint a little portrait or landscape ... get some other little craft kit and put that together ... forget about making a masterpiece of any sort for a while ... cut up a cereal box and make shapes out of the pieces ... try doing something stupidly simple or oddly amusing ... take a break to enjoy some tapioca or what-not ... make a boat out of tin foil, and keep trying that till you make one that actually floats ... then use some leftover tin foil to make yourself a nice hat!  ;D

In other words, let go of all the crappy thoughts that keep you in a crappy place ... so there will be room for some nice, fresh fun ideas.  Sometimes, "letting go" can be a challenge itself, so you have to do some of the things along the various stupid, silly and/or amusing ideas in the preceding paragraph to PUSH out those crappy thoughts.  Been there ... done that ... we all have ... we all need to do it again from time to time.

And, again, best of luck!

I just checked his website and you are right . Do you know any more of why he has done this ? It wasn't something we said was it ?

Hopefully he'll change his mind and bring it all back ,
