That diorama looks TERRIFIC! Uh, I mean quite satisfactory. -- Russ

Bernhard

Yes, really great. It looks like a cathedral of the industrial age.

Thanks, both for the color code and the heads up!

Quote from: Hauk on July 04, 2024, 10:49:58 AMNot sure how many pieces of rolling stock that is optimal for the scene. Might be enough with a disassembled engine.

I can only agree! Too many pieces would eventually distract from the main object.

I came across this picture on Kevin Keith Robinson's facebook site. Thought it could be some sort of inspiration concerning the colours ... :-\

Great! For me, the most beautiful color is rust.

A perfect look for an abandoned workshop! I did in fact consider building the workshop in such a state, but I settled for trying to replicate the scene shown in the prototype images; an operating shop set in the thirties. And it is my firm belief that a skilled craftsman from that era would die from shame if the machinery he was responsible for would fall into a state of negligence like that!

I think I'm a "rustaholic", love the stuff.

I agree, Havard. Modelers often tend to exaggerate weathering and negligence. -- Russ

Hauk

No time spent in the workshop since last post, the only modelling done is 3D-modelling parts for the gantry crane. I am not really enjoying digital modelling, but unfortunately there really is no way around it as my ambitions are far bigger than my actual skills and the time I have for modelling.

Hauk, I wish that I could not enjoy digital modeling with the skill that you do not enjoy digital modeling. That's a very nicely modeled hook for your gantry crane.

Havard, digital tools build better models than I can. I'm glad I'm able to use some of them. -- Russ
