Certainly looks completely part of the scene and not just an add on.

Out of interest Chuck the chain you have used for the padlock do you remember how many links per inch or where you got it from ?

Thanks Jerry!

Gordon, I used Builders In Scale 40 LPI blackened chain. I got it at my LHS, but I think CC Crow has it.

It looks amazingly real Chuck, is the glass on the window purposely out of place? Shouldn't it be cracked or something?

I noticed you were into a summer slowdown because I've seen you trough the forums more often!

When I look at Chuck's stuff I think this is the best anyone can do, then Chuck does better.

amazing detail & finish Chuck. Are those long small 1/4-20 bolts printed or were they add-ons ?

Thanks Guys! Nelson, I copied a couple of neat windows found on Flickr:

Phil, if you mean the ones in the Pepsi sign, they were dimpled in with a punch and die in my drill press (not spinning) The sign was printed on Epson presentation paper, then covered with Scotch magic tape and burnished. Then I added the "bolts" from the back. Then soda blasting for tooth and Gouache N Powders. I also Dullcoated the backside for humidity protection.

It's hard to get a good crop from this side; someday I will learn how to paste in a scenic backdrop.

Great stuff Chuck

Do you do your photography outside in natural light or do you have some kind of studio set up?

Cheers

I should have been more clear. I was referring to the lubester. :-[

sorry me, philip

Ah, got it. I accidently left the tie rods on the computer model view. I put them in the 3D model to check the fit, but left them off the file I sent for printing. I did print holes for them and used .010 brass wire, then topped them off with sliced Plastruct hex stock for bolt heads.

The knob and handle were printed as shown and I added an NBW casting for the mounting bolt.
