Every square inch is modeled to the max and there's
nothing in this scene that looks like a miniature.

Chuck, this is the most astounding model I've ever seen.

Thanks Russ, and Ken!

I finished my pump this weekend. I tried for a badly tarnished aluminum finish on the nozzle, and then installed it with a hose made from heat bent styrene rod. The hose was sprayed with flat black and then dusted with Bragdon powders. The nozzle was also primed with flat black and then painted with Gwosh and powders.

It's been fun, and I'm really happy with the result. I certainly could not have scratchbuilt this using traditional methods with the same results (or time frame).

I used this nozzle for color reference-got fairly close

There's nothing to add to this extraordinary model, Chuck.
You've left very little space for further improvements...

Nádherný! Prachtig! Superbe! Hervorragend! Subarashii! Wspaniały! Excelente! .....and just plain old Superb!

Your piece makes the right hand image in the side-by-side, look like a so-so 1/48 model. ;D

I may add in dutch :  GEWELDIG, GRANDIOOS.

You took modeling to the extreme .....

challenging your abilities without a deja-vu feeling will become difficult.

Chuck,

Well this wonderful thread is finally coming to a close.  Thanks for all the info and letting us watch this all come together.

It was just excellent.

And now Mr. Wizard do have any idea what will be next??

Thanks and hopefully this will not create an international incident! I still have to mount it on the dio and finish a couple small dio things. The next project is unknown, but I have a long list to choose from. Hopefully somthing in the sub-two year range... :-\

"Crikey, she's a fair dinkum bloody ripper mate!"
Sorry, had to throw in some native Australian for the compliment list...

Its just another one of your fine and simple details that has been finished off to perfection, and will aid in making what sounds like a very plain scene (front face of an old garage), into a work of art.  Inspiring stuff as usual Chuck...never really disappointed with your work for some funny reason.

Cheers,
Dan
