talk about attention to detail. You win Chuck! You should write a book on how you do what you do.

   Philip ,

He has written a book , or should I say he has written enough for a book , the only problem is that it is spread around the interweb and needs bringing together and collating . Can I put your name down as a possible volunteer to do that job ?

   Chuck ,

Would you please take it as read that every time you post a picture or two that it meets with ones approval even though one might not post a note saying as much .  That way , one can save one's typing finger from getting to sore ,

Chuck,
Would be nice to see one of the stuff ups one of these days, just to make us all feel a bit better.  Other than that, I guess you just moved that bar a little higher.

Nick,
Voice recognition software...though it might struggle with the accent.

Cheers,
Dan

Thanks very much! Yes, the wire nuts fall short, but they were my first. I know someone who uses .003 diameter end mills; maybe I can do flutes next time! Dan, most of my stuff ups hit the wall too fast for my camera to capture.

Chuck-

amazing work and fascinating to see your processes coming to fruition.

Quotemost of my stuff ups hit the wall too fast for my camera to capture.

I don't know about anyone else here but a clip of one of your stuff-ups hitting the wall might be just as good! ;)

Not me Nick. It would have to be a big collective hunt. Some how in this age of digitization with server errors, nothing beats a hardcopy. Psst...Russ..Chuck 8)

Chuck has let me publish each of his dioramas since the Red Oak Garage a few years back. As outstanding as the earlier models may be, the more recent ones simply are in a league of their own and each gets a little better. So, if you have the last couple of Modelers' Annuals you have everything you need (I think). -- Russ

Chuck,     Any progress on the oil dispenser??  and will there ever be a gas pump on that cement slab??  Heres a pic to get you motivated

Chuck Doan

Nothing beyond new plans!

I think R and D unique made a resin kit of that style. Thanks for the pic!

Thanks Marc!

I got the pump parts smoothed. These items have been primed to check smootheness and then stripped so I can apply the finer details.

I got really lazy and had a tank printed. The fill hatch and the pump were done seperately to allow for sanding the surfaces. Hopefully I can get a run on this while watching the races this weekend!

Chuck Doan

I didn't get as much time as hoped this weekend, but at least I finished the sign bracket and got it mounted. Hopefully I won't bump it during the rest of the building.

Shades were sanded, primed with Testors flat black and then sprayed with Testors flat white. Color sanded when dry, and then weathered with gwosh and pigment powders.

What 1100 miles of racing not enough?
I guess I am gonna have to break down and get some of that gwosh.
Any suggestions what colors to start with?
Oh and the scene looks great (as if you didnt know!)

Thanks Marty! Actually there was a lot more than that including the Nationwide race on Sat. and the Grand Am on Monday.

I mostly use Burnt Sienna, Black and seriously mislabeled "Permanent" White. I mix these up to vary the shades.

For this project I also have Green and a shade of yellow for the siding. I need to get some Red for my gas pump.
