To all.. I came across a very nice book about painting with Water Colors at Hobby Lobby the other day that I wanted to pass along to everyone.  The author is Claudia Nice (of Bend, Oregon) and she specializes in pen, ink and water color.

Here is a Amazon link to the book:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Painting-Weathered-Buildings-Watercolor-Reference

She shows a lot of information about choosing color that will match old weathered barn siding, old bricks, roofs etc.  And stone.  And the illustrations are in color.  Her work and subjects look as if you would expect to see one at a model contest.

For those of us who need some help with how color work.. this is an excellent book.. It even shows how a little blue will make your sienna look even better.

I bought this book sometime ago on the recommendation of Darryl Huffman . Whilst it is intended for people who want to paint or draw weathered buildings the information in it should be of use to us modellers as well .

In fact , I really ought to dig it out and see what use it could be !

I just got my copy of this book from Amazon.com an hour ago. Flipping through it I think it will prove very useful.
