Do the lights on the wrecker light up too?

Those are very cool.  I really like the designs and of course the craftsmanship is nice as well.  They would make great diorama filler or even the primary subject of a small diorama.

Chuck,    The lights on the Mack wrecker do not light-up :(  I could probably go back and mess around with it but ill call this project finished.                            David,   Thanks..  I planed on using these as a mini scene on my old Gas station build...next to a old Air tower.... :( but i ended up scraping the old project....hopefully ill put them in service somewere down the line..... If you go back to page 4 at Modellers at Work you'll see my post on my old project 1930's mobil gas station.         Craig

Safe to assume you scratched these pedal cars?  The reason I ask is that a few years back I purchased some resin kits of 1/25 pedal cars.  Never built them.. must be around here some place.  Gary

Gary,    They started out as resin kits...from gram pa's toy's...i believe if i got the name right...got these about 15 years ago.  They were very crude and wall thickness to thick...had to do a lot of work to make them look good. Scratch built all the rods and pedal mech and pedals under the body...then added alot of extra correct details getting info from a pedal car book i had in my library.  I enjoyed building them back then ;D        Craig

Craig,
Yes!  I have the same ones (if I can find them).  Not to steal your thread, but a few years ago I built one of those "10 cents a ride" little oscillating cars that you see outside of grocery or drug stores.  I started with an old Highway Pioneers kit and put it on a base with a tube sticking up thru the bottom.  If I can find that (who knows where this stuff goes) I'll post a pix.  Gary

Late entry... I found my Grandpa kits, one similar to yours and the other is a nifty little fire truck.  I'll probabay use the truck to make another "10 cents a ride" gizmo, as I think I probably lost the first one - it as more than likely glued to the base of a building I sold some time ago.

Heres a pic out of my picture vault

Great photos and what a nice subject for a scale model.  A pedal car could be subtle little gem to put in a diorama for people to discover when they come back for a closer look.   :)  The commercial cast models look a little too elaborate for the typical toy car.    I suppose he made them using Jordan HO kits and a little fantasy.   A scale model of one of the samples in your photos would be pretty darn cool...  something for my to-do list....

Love those pics Craig, especially number 4, that's a beautiful car. The leather helmets and goggles are a kick too...

Paul,    Number 4  is a cool pic.  That was a pricey toy for it's day :o would love to find one at a garage sale cheap.                    Craig
